The Project

SUMMARY

In past years, two partner organisations of the current project worked together in order to develop a wealth & variety of good practice in VET for trainees with a background of social obstacles and do offer them different vocational & pre-vocational opportunities. Through this previous cooperation they already investigated the support needs of such a target group in accessing VET abroad and discovered through joint working obstacles preventing them accessing VET. As a result is produced a ‘Leonardo pathway passport’ (booklet) which will support the target group in their access to international VET and travel with the young people throughout their VET experience. This new partnership (starting in September 2011 and finishing in July 2013) will be used now to investigate and improve VET-opportunities available to this target group in each of the partner areas and endeavour to develop a better service for these learners with fewer opportunities. This means that the partnership will define for host and sending organisations the necessary support to give to the target group in order to make the VET opportunities more succesfull for each of the involved. Even if all the partners are experienced in working with the target group there is nevertheless a different approach in working in an international context. Therefore, materials, guidelines for a succesfull support before, during and after the VET opportunity will be prepared during the activities of the project. Possibilities to involve active cooperation between the partners and enterprises and/or social partners are part of the deal.

OBJECTIVES
  • To increase the volume of mobility of the target group of the project (young people with a background of social obstacles but also includes the professionals in vocational education and training) and the quality management of the mobilities, including pedagogical, linguistic and cultural preparation and arrangements for the stay abroad.
  • To optimize the impact of mobility projects based on the learning outcomes.
  • To identify opportunities for the trainees in further VET opportunities in co-operation with enterprises, social partners and other relevant bodies.
  • To enhance the attrictiveness of VET opportunities.
  • To cooperate and exchange of good practice between the partners involved and local entities.
  • To discuss and formulate potential guidelines in order to obtain quality standards,
  • To visit VET opportunities, discuss learning objectives, improve transparancy and recognition of qualifications and competences.
  • To make possible that each partner could identify the possibilities of cooperation with the world of work in each partner country.
